It was hardly fair that I should have been diagnosed with breast cancer during October, breast cancer month. But I'm still here!

Recently I drove from Michigan to Florida and back and hit the beaches for two weeks. I wondered, Can I be a vegan without my refrigerator?

I am being kind to myself....cravings within reason get satisfied, and I try some new recipes and products.

As I approach a substitution for an old food loves, the muscles in my face and throat squinch up before the foreign object—especially anything soy—even gets near my mouth.

My vegan lifestyle is beginning with a shopping trip and a report of what I ate today.

I read and wrote so much about breast cancer—twice a week for a year!—that I had no more to say about breast cancer: UNTIL NOW!

Ten fish paintings done during my breast cancer treatment, as well as illustrations from my breast cancer blog, will be on display from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Jeff Ward Studio at 904 North Water Street, Bay City, Michigan. I'll be there to answer any questions.

After 100 blogs in just over a year, I've moved my breast cancer blog back home, where I can display my illustrations and widen my focus to include the many other facets of my artistic life.
